Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take for my prescription to be ready?

Once we receive the electronic prescription from your GP, we aim to dispense it as quickly as possible. If you nominate us using the form on this page, we will send you an SMS text message the exact moment it is ready to collect so you don't have to wait around.

Do I need to see a GP to get my blood pressure checked?

Not at all. If you are aged 40 or older (or under 40 with a family history of high blood pressure), you can simply walk into our pharmacy for a free NHS blood pressure check. No doctor's referral is required.

Do I need an appointment to use the Pharmacy First service?

No, Pharmacy First is a dedicated walk-in service. You can visit us during our normal opening hours, and our pharmacist will assess your symptoms privately and rapidly in our consultation room.

Can I get my contraceptive pill here if I am registered with a different GP?

Yes, absolutely. Our Pharmacy Contraception Service is available to anyone, entirely free of charge, regardless of which NHS GP surgery you are currently registered with.
