Walk-in service: no appointment requiredGet immediate advice and prescription treatment for seven common illnesses directly from our pharmacist, bypassing the GP waiting room.
Our pharmacists can provide expert advice and, where clinically necessary, prescribe treatments for:
- Sinusitis (for adults and children aged 12 years and over)
- Sore throat (aged 5 years and over)
- Earache (children aged 1 to 17 years)
- Infected insect bite (aged 1 year and over)
- Impetigo (aged 1 year and over)
- Shingles (aged 18 years and over)
- Uncomplicated urinary tract infections (women aged 16 to 64 years)
Blood Pressure Clinic (NHS & Private)
Standard checks are walk-in: no appointment requiredA free NHS blood pressure check if you qualify, a private check for £10 if you don't, and home monitoring to confirm a raised reading.
Free NHS blood pressure checkThe NHS check is for finding high blood pressure that has not been diagnosed. You can have one free if all three apply:
- you are aged 40 or over;
- you have not been diagnosed with high blood pressure (hypertension); and
- you have not had your blood pressure checked in the last five years.
Under 40 with a family history of high blood pressure, or otherwise at higher risk? Ask us: we can sometimes include you under the NHS service. The check is not for people whose blood pressure is already being treated or regularly monitored, for example in pregnancy. If your reading is raised, we can fit a free NHS ambulatory monitor (ABPM) for you to wear at home, and we send the results to your GP. If you are 40 or over, your GP practice, optician or dentist can also refer you to us for ABPM after a raised reading with them.

Private blood pressure checksHad an NHS check in the last five years, already on treatment and want a check between GP reviews, or simply prefer to pay? Our private options:
- Clinic blood pressure check: £10
- Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM): £50. A wearable monitor you take home for 24 hours, tracking your blood pressure through the day and night. Please call us in advance to check the availability of our ABPM machines.
Pharmacy Contraception Service
Walk-in service: no GP appointment requiredAccess oral contraception safely and discreetly directly from our pharmacy team, entirely free of charge.
You can get your oral contraception directly from us, with no need to wait for a doctor's appointment.
Whether you need a resupply of your current pill or are starting for the first time, you can arrange a confidential consultation directly with our pharmacist. This service is entirely free, and you do not need to be registered with a local GP surgery. We also provide free NHS Emergency Hormonal Contraception.
NHS Flu & COVID-19 Vaccinations
Book through the NHS, or walk inFree seasonal NHS flu and COVID-19 vaccinations for those who are eligible, given in our private consultation room.
There are two free routes. Book through the NHS website or the NHS App and choose Hampstead Heath Pharmacy as your venue: your dose is then reserved for you. Or walk in during our opening hours, with no appointment; walk-in doses depend on the NHS stock we hold on the day.
Eligibility is set by the NHS for each season and differs between the two vaccines. Not eligible for a free NHS vaccine? Both vaccines are also offered privately, in season, with prices on the same page. Please do not use our online booking system for an NHS vaccine: it is for private appointments only.

How long does it take for my prescription to be ready?
Once we receive the electronic prescription from your GP, we aim to dispense it as quickly as possible. If you nominate us using the form on this page, we send you a text message when it is ready to collect, so you don't have to wait around.
Do I need to see a GP to get my blood pressure checked?
No. If you are aged 40 or over, have never been diagnosed with high blood pressure and have not had your blood pressure checked in the last five years, you can walk in for a free NHS blood pressure check; no referral is needed. Under 40 and at higher risk? Ask us. If you don't qualify for the NHS check, a private check costs £10.
Do I need an appointment to use the Pharmacy First service?
No, Pharmacy First is a dedicated walk-in service. You can visit us during our normal opening hours, and our pharmacist will assess your symptoms privately and rapidly in our consultation room.
Can I walk in for my NHS flu or COVID-19 vaccine?
Yes, if you are eligible, during our opening hours. Walk-in doses depend on the NHS stock we hold on the day, so to be sure of a dose, book through the NHS website or the NHS App and choose Hampstead Heath Pharmacy as your venue: your dose is then reserved for you. Can I get my contraceptive pill here if I am registered with a different GP?
Yes, absolutely. Our Pharmacy Contraception Service is available to anyone, entirely free of charge, regardless of which NHS GP surgery you are currently registered with.
